Automated KGV
Knife Gate Valves are ideal to cut through thick flow media like slurry, pulp
and powders over a wide range of sizes. Knife Gate Valves are available in rising or
non-rising stem with multiple actuation options like hand wheel, chain wheel, bevel gear
box, pneumatic cylinder and electrical motorized actuator. These valves can be offered with
an integral metal seat for abrasive flow media or with a resilient seat for flow media that
requires a tight shut off.
These valves can be supplied with additional accessories like air filter regulator,
lubricator unit, solenoid valve, limit switches, proximity sensors, flow control valve and
electro pneumatic positioners of reputed makes.
BEVEL GEAR OPERATED
This arrangement is provided in application where space limitations prohibit use of standard
hand-wheel. A mechanical advantage makes operation of large size valves easier and faster.
PNEUMATIC ACTUATOR
Pneumatic actuators are provided for on-off application service. The gate is operated by a
double acting pneumatic cylinder. Accessories like solenoid valves, limit switches etc. are
provided as per customer's requirement
ELECTRIC ACTUATOR
Electric Motor Actuators are provided for on-off or throttling applications. They are
provided with manual over-ride arrangement to take care in case of power failure. The
service conditions, type of application, speed of operation, electric characteristics are
the factors governing the actuator
CHAIN WHEEL OPERATED
A Chain Wheel is provided in place of hand-wheel in applications where the valve is located
at an elevation. The length of the chain needs to be specified at the time of placing the
order.
FAILSAFE SYSTEMS
Automation is the new trend for pneumatically actuated valves wherein solenoid operated
direction control valves control the air supply to the pneumatic actuator and initiate the
opening and closing action. Since this a process that involves electric current and air
supply, failure of either of them or both can hinder the operation. If the flow media has
the property of solidification if stagnant, it is necessary that the valve opens as a
failsafe action and if the flow media is reactive, it is necessary that the valve closes as
a failsafe action.
Thus considering the three failsafe actions of fail to close, open and stay put and
considering the various types of failure that can occur, Expert can provide appropriate
failsafe systems as per the system requirements. Accessories like 5/2 or 5/3 way single coil
or double coil Solenoid Valves and Accumulator tank are used in the same.
